Whistling Woods International, Goregaon is an institution here to make a difference. It is a place where film and television programming, music production, advertising and design, management, digital media, Animation & VFX converge to create the ultimate learning experience.

Collaborations

WWI has various collaborations with institutions like the University of Greenwich, London for Academic collaboration, Bournemouth University, Bradford College, CILECT, and many more. The school has an excellent collaboration program with the likes of Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, etc. The students get to work on projects with these international giants, which helps them understand industry standards better. It also opens up plenty of job opportunities for them in the future.

Associations

Whistling Woods International Departmental Association is an association of students and staff of Whistling Woods International, Goregaon, that aims to bring together the students, faculty, alumni, and other professionals to work towards a common goal and give them a platform for promoting their talents, skills, and abilities.

It is dedicated to the welfare of its members and works towards the development of all its activities and projects by involving its members in every way. The association offers a platform for leadership and growth, hobby clubs, sports clubs, community outreach programs, career counselling services, company visits and internships, workshops with renowned industry professionals.

Publications

Whistling Woods International is committed to providing a platform for learning and sharing of knowledge in the field of Digital Cinema, Animation & VFX, Film-making, Acting, Sound Engineering, and Teleproduction. Whistling Woods International offers a wide variety of publications for students and professionals to improve in their relevant fields. • The film ‘Mera Number Kab Aayega’ by the alumni of Whistling Woods International received a number of awards and accolades.

Student Projects

One of the student projects from Whistling Woods International, Goregaon that made it big was "Saala Khadoos", a short film directed by a student called Madhavan Narayanan. The film was made in just 10 days, and went on to win many international awards and gain a lot of praise. There are many more such stories involving students from WWI.

Student Counselling

Student-counselors at Whistling Woods International can guide you to choose the right course according to your interests and aptitude. Whistling Woods International students get an opportunity to learn from eminent teachers and industry professionals who are experts in their respective fields. To deal with the stress and make the students feel more comfortable they have a counselling help desk. The help desk is there to give them an ear to listen to their problems and help them find solutions. We have counselling experts who are trained to deal with such cases.

Whistling Woods International Achievements 

• WWI’s faculty Prashant Naik, HOD School of Filmmaking, Editing, has also served as a member of South- II Panel of the Feature Film Jury for 67th National Film Awards 2019
• As part of the event, Chaitanya Chinchlikar, Vice President & CTO, WWI, was the speaker for the discussion and spoke on the topic, ‘XR Technology in Virtual Film Education.
• U.S. Embassy, New Delhi in association with the Women Inspiring Network, hosted a live panel discussion about ‘Youth Empowerment: Be the Change.’ WWI’s President, Meghna Ghai Puri, was one of the panellists, and the discussion aimed to empower the audience to be the change, get inspired, aim to be an influencer, and make a difference in the community.

As of now, there are 2 clubs that students can be a part of: The Whistling Woods International Film Club and the Whistling Woods International Music Club. Whistling Woods International has four annual events: 

• The Freshers' Week
• Whistle Out Loud
• Big Pictures 
• The Final Night. The Freshers' Week is an annual cultural fest organized by the students of Whist Growth in which a students' life is incomplete without co-curricular, sports, and club activities. WWI provides the right environment for the overall growth of its students. 

The institution organizes various events throughout the year as a part of clubs and societies to create new avenues for students to explore their interests. These include Whistling Woods Film Club, Whistling Woods Music Club, etc. Whistling Woods International has organized a number of events and clubs to enhance its students' learning experience. 

Some of the events organized by Whistling Woods International are as follows: "The Treble" is an annual event organized by WWI in which participants are made to portray themselves as one of the four protagonists in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, Frodo Baggins, Aragorn, Gandalf or Gollum. The event includes group performances along with solo acts.

1. Celebrate Cinema-Celebrate Cinema platform allows you to rub shoulders with the best and learn about the techniques in Indian cinema over two action-packed days. It is an open event for all cinema lovers, aspiring filmmakers, media, design, and fashion professionals, where they will have an opportunity to attend workshops, screenings, various contests, and celebrity panel discussions.
2. Inspiration-The School of Media & Communication hosts an annual media seminar series across multiple Indian cities. Experts in the industry come together to talk about the dynamic nature of this field.
3. Aiyanna-Whistling Woods International School of Fashion hosts ‘AIYANNA’, an annual fashion graduation show. This event gives students the opportunity to showcase their work and also allows them to make a fashion film. They have the freedom to create their own unique style and are encouraged to compete with one another in a friendly way. Collections and fashion movies at the graduation shows are judged by a jury panel, which includes well-known personalities from the Indian fashion industry. The students are mentored by industry experts and veterans. 
4. 5th Veda-The fifth Veda Cultural Hub is a world-class institute that encourages the best of artists and young talents to teach and perform their artistic skills, which in turn develops the artistic skills of students. Students attend events featuring artists from India, including students' participation.

Bradford College Bradford, UK

Bradford College UK and Whistling Woods International won the bid for a UKIERI funded project in 2007. The project, Bradford to Bollywood, will have students from both institutes working on a short clay animation movie that will make an entry in the 20th Bradford Animation Festival. In 2009/2010 Whistling Woods International Animation students developed script and story board in collaboration with Bradford Photography students. Both teams visited each other's institutes, UK and India, accompanied by faculty members, in order to create clay characters and backgrounds, and take consecutive still pictures of the characters. The project has facilitated a partnership between the two institutes and will allow regular cultural exchanges between student bodies.

CILECT is an Industry Body Partner of Whistling Woods International.

Deakin University, Australia

Deakin University Australia formally recognises Whistling Woods International as an Academic Partner and provides advance standing for WWI diploma holders. All undergraduate Whistling Woods students can, on completion of their two-year diploma, transfer directly into the third year of Deakin University's Bachelor of Film and Digital Media with a selection in Animation or Film Majors. Students who have completed their 2 year specialisation in Acting from Whistling Woods International can, on completion of their two-year diploma, transfer directly into the third year of Deakin University's Bachelor of Creative Arts (Drama). To search for suitable courses visit: www.deakin.edu.au/arts-ed/courses Whistling Woods International and Deakin University also run an exchange program that allows students to spend 1 extra semester in Australia. 

Edith Cowan University Mount Lawley, Western Australia

Edith Cowan University formally recognises Whistling Woods International as an Academic Partner, and provides advance standing for Whistling Woods International Screenwriting diploma holders.

Whistling Woods International students can, on completion of their two-year diploma, transfer directly into the second year of Edith Cowan University's Bachelor of Writing.

Griffith University, Australia

Griffith University Australia formally recognises Whistling Woods International as an Academic Partner and provides advance standing for WWI diploma holders. Whistling Woods students can, on completion of their two-year diploma, transfer directly into the third year of Griffith University's Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production or Bachelor of Animation.

Students interested in obtaining the latter degrees from Griffith can enrol in the February intake (semester I) and in the July intake (semester II) and select approximately 8 courses offered by the program.

Whistling Woods International and Griffith University also run an exchange program that allows students to spend 1 semester in Australia.

Leeds Metropolitan University Leeds, UK

Leeds Metropolitan University is an In Line Partner of Whistling Woods International. Second year students from the Bachelor of Film & Moving Image Production program at Northern Film School attended Bollywood Snapshots. During their month of study at Whistling Woods International in 2008, Leeds students studied various aspects of Indian Cinema and completed a practical project where students wrote, produced and edited a short film.

Norwegian Film Institute

The Norwegian Film Institute and Whistling Woods International have drawn common objectives into facilitating student exchange programs, exchange library resources and promoting collaborations in research.

NYU Tisch

NYU Tisch is a co-production affiliate of Whistling Woods International.

Portsmouth University, Portsmouth

Portsmouth University and Whistling Woods International have collaborated on an intensive training focused on management skills in creative industries. Every year, students of Portsmouth University's MA (Creative & Cultural Leadership) spend one week at WWI to learn about leadership for creative industries. The next course has been planned for January 2010.

Queensland University of Technology Brisbane, Australia

Queensland University of Technology recognises Whistling Woods International as a co-operative educational institute.

QUT and WWI agree to develop joint ventures between student bodies, to exchange materials and publications of common interest, and to explore future credit transfers between both institutes' film programs.

Sydney TAFE

Sydney TAFE is an affiliate of Whistling Woods International for Fashion.

Syracuse University

Syracuse University is an In Line Partner of Whistling Woods International. Undergraduate and Graduate students from the Television, Radio and Film program New House School attend WWI Bollywood Snapshots: SU Internships. During their month of study and Internship at Whistling Woods International, Syracuse students visit Mumbai's historical and cultural sites, interact with Media professionals, learn about movie production in Mumbai and work as interns in main production houses.

Teesside University, UK

Teesside University UK formally recognises Whistling Woods International as an Academic Partner and provides advance standing for WWI Animation diploma holders. Whistling Woods students who have completed their 2 year Diploma in Animation, can transfer directly into the third year of Teesside University's Bachelor Creative Animation Production (level 6 top-up).

Students interested in obtaining the latter degree from Teesside University will enroll in the September intake and follow the courses included in the third year of the selected BA.

University of Hertfordshire

University of Hertfordshire UK formally recognises Whistling Woods International as an Academic Partner and provides advance standing for WWI diploma holders. Whistling Woods students can, on completion of their two-year diploma, transfer directly into the third year of University of Hertfordshire's Bachelor of Film and Television Documentary, Bachelor of Film and Television Entertainment, Bachelor of Film and Television Fiction.

Students interested in obtaining the latter degrees from University of Hertfordshire will enroll in the September intake and follow the courses included in the third year of the selected BA.

Victoria College of the Arts

Victoria College of the Arts is an affiliate of Whistling Woods International.

Administration

• The institute has tie-ups with major Hollywood studios like Sony Pictures Entertainment, Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Universal Studios.
• The institute also conducts workshops for middle school students. Whistling Woods International (WWI) is a private institute in the film, television, and media production industry. The institute is an initiative of Pritish Nandy Communications and Whistling Woods International.
• Whistling Woods has over 45 Training & Production studios and more than 20 state-of-the-art classrooms, all equipped with the latest technology and equipment, including 3D animation studios, LCD projection screens, and more than 100 editing suites. It has four screening theatres that can seat over 400 people and three outdoor theatres with a capacity of 12000 people.
